<p>It&#8217;s worth it. The workout. The watching what you&#8217;re eating. The puddle of sweat on the floor afterwards. It&#8217;s all worth it. And how do I know? Well, I decided to step on my scale today, making it officially seven days since I measured and weighed myself. And do you know what?</p>
<p>I lost 7.6 <em>freaking</em> pounds! One WEEK of doing Insanity!</p>
<p>I was completely and happily shocked! So now, my goal is to lose 3lbs-5lbs per week. I know it&#8217;s going to take a lot of hard work and dedication but I am THERE. I am willing to go the distance!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This afternoon I received a text from a friend of mine. It reassured me that despite all the nervousness of becoming a coach and taking on this journey, I am indeed doing the right thing:</p>

<p>It&#8217;s been a week (well.. technically a week tomorrow but I digress) since I began this program. I only slept less than an hour last night since I was too excited to see the progress I&#8217;ve made along the way. &#8220;One week!&#8221; .. &#8221; I wonder what it could be!&#8221; So, finally around 7am this morning, I took out my measuring tape and began the process of measuring my body. I had actually made a bit of progress in some areas but the biggest area of improvement, to my pleasant surprise, were my arms. I was surprised because I have been doing the girlie push ups but obviously I&#8217;m doing something right ^_^. Afterwards, I stepped on the scale and sighed in a bit of sadness. There was no weight loss. But with the inches lost, it&#8217;s progress.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m now hoping the week goes by quickly so I can order Shakeology next week. I keep hearing amazing things about it and since they&#8217;re currently running a promotion where if you make a video describing how it&#8217;s helped you out with weight loss or fitness, 10 winners receiving from $1,000 &#8211; $3,000, you can definitely bet something is working properly. I&#8217;ve also been told it helps with migraines and I have no desire to pop a pill so .. hurry up pay-day so I can order this! I guess one of the good things about waiting is being able to see the differences between a workout with and without Shakeology.</p>

<p>Last Friday, I went out and decided to purchase these babies:</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve been wearing them all weekend and absolutely love them! As much as I hate the color. Oh well. They&#8217;re super comfortable and after three Insanity workouts, my feet have not been in incredible pain like they were with my sneakers. Also, they don&#8217;t slip off so no worries on having to re-tie them over and over mid-workout.</p>

<p>I was originally going to do my measurements on the 8th day, which would be the start of a new workout week but I figured since I do have a day off and all, I might as well put it to good use to be held accountable. And speaking of that little devil, I went out on Saturday and purchased this:</p>

<p>I was normally a huge advocate for <strong>NOT</strong> using a scale and instead going by how clothes fit except I ended up relying way too much on that. I needed a quick slap-in-the-face-dose-of-reality and having to go to the hospital definitely did that to me. I will point out two things:</p>
<p>* 1. I&#8217;m going to try my best and weigh myself only <em>ONCE</em> a week. Now, as a female we know this is a job in and of itself but I will do my very best. Otherwise we all know I&#8217;d be stepping on that damn thing each and every day, a few times a day and that is no bueno.</p>
<p>* 2. I don&#8217;t want to weigh 135.2 lbs. Why? Because last time I weighed near that, people kept asking if I was eating at all to begin with, if I was sick or telling me I needed to be hospitalized.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m a &#8220;fun sized&#8221; 5&#8217;4&#8243; but I have a very curvy body and am not a stick figure in any sense of the word. My ideal is to get back to 150-ish. And according to the BMI factor being 5&#8217;4&#8243; and 150lbs would give me a 25.7 BMI and that&#8217;s considered &#8220;Overweight.&#8221; Now.. I&#8217;m going to go ahead and call bullshit on that. When I weighed in the 150&#8242;s, I was a size 6 and there&#8217;s no way in hell a size 6 is overweight. Now sure, I can try to say &#8220;Yes! I want to be 135 lbs!&#8221; but this journey is <strong>not</strong> about being skinny. This journey is about being healthy. There is a <strong>difference</strong>. Maybe once I reach my ideal weight I will say I want to push for more but for now, these are my goals.</p>

<p>Though I will be honest, I could&#8217;ve pushed harder. Right now I&#8217;m doing girlie pushups since I&#8217;m having difficulty with the regular ones. I&#8217;m hoping that by the end of the program I will be back to not having issues getting down on the floor and just breezing through a few.</p>
<p>Wishful thinking. ^_^</p>
<p>I know I didn&#8217;t write yesterday but afterwork and my workout I was invited to a movie. I came prepared with a yummy coconut water drink because I wasn&#8217;t planning on buying expensive crap food or sodas at the movie theater. My friend and I ended up not seeing a movie and instead went over to Whole Foods where a friend of my hooked me up with an awesome sandwich. I love Whole Foods but when you&#8217;re charging $2.99 for ONE avocado, it&#8217;s time to shop elsewhere. I love the sandwiches there my favorite being:</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">* Toasted</p>
<p style="text-align:center;">*Adding the following veggies: cucumbers, tomato, lettuce, lots of pickles ^_^</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">But since Whole Foods tends to be out of my budget, I only go once every two months or so to treat myself to one of those babies. The friend I went to the store with wanted to treat me to something so we picked out this delicious mango coconut mini cheesecake. I could have fit three of these in the palm of my hand and it was $6.99. Ouch.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">It was tempting to just eat this all on my own. &#8220;It was small. It&#8217;s got fruit. I&#8217;ve been working out..&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">The excuses easily and immediately filled my head but something stopped me. I remembered my workout only an hour earlier. My hard work. I didn&#8217;t want to throw that all away. So, we split it. And while it might seem a bit ridiculous to split something so small, I was able to walk away from that dinner not only with a happy belly but happy conscious. <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

<p style="text-align:left;">I&#8217;m going to try to if not write every day, at least post up a photo every day to help keep me accountable with y&#8217;all. In other news: OFFICIALLY a BeachBody Coach and hope to finish setting up my page by tonight. I&#8217;m also going to work on having my own Facebook page for coaching and will share that once it&#8217;s set up. ^_^</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So I finally did it.. I took the plunge and decided to become a BeachBody Coach.</p>
<p>Now, before you run away thinking I&#8217;m going to try and sell you anything and everything under the sun.. Hold up.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m not.</p>
<p>No, really. I&#8217;m not a salesperson. I&#8217;m just a girl who&#8217;s found herself in a crappy state of health and has decided to do something about it. I won&#8217;t lie, I&#8217;m going to be honest with you and I will not try to force anything on you.</p>
<p>Maybe it was the recent road trip with my husband and eating junk food all the time, maybe it was the 6 freaking pounds I gained in those two weeks from all the junk food, maybe it was seeing some God-awful photos of myself from our wedding two months ago, maybe it was knowing that my husband will be deploying in the next couple of weeks and I need something to help keep my mind off the atmosphere he will be in once again.. maybe it was stepping at the scale at the doctor&#8217;s office and seeing that number.. or maybe it was finding out I&#8217;d gotten pregnant and losing the baby days later..</p>
<p>I think it was a combination of everything. Having a miscarriage certainly played a huge part though. Everywhere I looked for advice it said to try and be at a healthy weight (which I wasn&#8217;t at) and eat plenty of healthy foods (which I wasn&#8217;t doing) and finally, it just got to me. I was waiting for a sign. A friend of mine posted a photo that read:</p>

<p>And yet, believe it or not.. I still didn&#8217;t get it.</p>
<p>It wasn&#8217;t until I remembered my friend Doug posted a link advertising a special deal with coaches and BeachBody that I decided, it was now or never.</p>
<p>Like I said before: I&#8217;m not here to force anything on you. I&#8217;m here to tell you my story. To hopefully have you follow me through this journey. And if I can motivate you along the way or encourage a healthier you, then that&#8217;s just the icing on the cake.</p>
<p>Oh wait. I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;m supposed to eat icing or cake. Meh. You get what I mean. ^_^</p>
<p>I should hopefully have my stuff set up in a week or so but I&#8217;ve already begun the journey.</p>
<p>Almost exactly a year ago (July 19th to be exact) I began a program called &#8220;Insanity&#8221;. It completely blew me away and I saw results. And I saw them fast. Unfortunately, a month into the program, I went on my first road trip (it was a blast actually) came back, ran a race and hurt my knee (again!) .. Almost a year later, here I am back a square one. Actually.. I was in <em>better shape then</em> so now I&#8217;m beyond square one and not allowed to play yet.</p>
<p>My birthday is in a little over two months and every year I get myself something purrty: A pink Kitchen Aid Mixer, a Coach purse, day at the spa.. you name it. This year, I&#8217;ve decided to change things up a bit.</p>
<p>My goal and gift to myself?<strong> A healthier me.</strong></p>
<p>According to my calculations, I will ideally finish the Insanity program 10 days before my birthday so, the pressure is on. I&#8217;m writing this blog in vain hopes that it will help to keep me accountable. Not only to myself but to you, (maybe random) reader.</p>
